Mary's Quilts

My friend and co-worker saved her daughter's baby clothes with the plan of making a memory quilt for her to take to college with her. Although she has a few more years to go, she brought me the clothes and I cut, ironed, added stabilizer to the pieces and made two quilts. It was a challenge because there was different type of fabrics, different thicknesses, etc. They were both quilted on long/short arm machines, if you look closely you can see the pattern of the stitches.

I am happy with the way the quilts turned out and will probably never do another!

Strip Quilt

This is a quilt made of African strips and the second quilt done completely on the frame after it was pieced on the smaller machine. I used an edge to edge pantograph in a meandering pattern. Still pretty excited about using the frame although I need a lot more practice.

Quilt for my Dad

This is a quilt I made for my father's 80th birthday. I used pictures printed on fabric for the border and a tree panel for the middle. It was also one of the first quilts I was able to complete almost fully on my new frame.

My New Toy

This is my new toy, a Brother PQ1500S semi industrial machine on a New Joy Frame. It allows me to quilt the tops my quilts without shoving them under and between a smaller tabletop machine.

It is too cool! I can quilt up to a queen-sized quilt.

Family Quilt

This is a t-shirt quilt I made for our bi-annual family reunion in 2008. I used the t-shirts for each city in which the reunion was held.

Beautiful Voices

This is a quilt I did for my mother, she is very active in the church choir, also one of her favorite colors is red. The pattern is called Beautiful Voices, it has a choir and key board and has been quilted using music notes.
